About Ken Twist - Head Instructor and Owner
Ken Twist was born and raised in central Ontario where he discovered his passion for the guitar at the young age of four. After leaving his homeland at age 23, Ken continued his journey in music as a student of Classical Guitar at Capilano University in British Columbia, Canada. His love and passion for people, particularly with the younger generation, led him to begin teaching and imparting the art of musical versatility.
While continuing to broaden his studies in cello, bass guitar, piano, percussion and theory, Ken's dynamic skill set and wide range of musical knowledge would serve him well in the educational sector as a Private Music Instructor. His desire to use these skills to create young teams of musicians led him to become the Founder and Director of the Music Exploration Class (MX). The growth and success of his pilot company Hearts Of Worship, which evolved in the Christian school system, has since been expanded into the new HOW Music and Arts Academy, based in North Vancouver, BC.
In 2014, Ken continued studies in jazz guitar, jazz piano, classical guitar and percussion at the Vancouver Symphony Orchestra School of Music, and is currently using this wealth of knowledge to enrich the lives of many young people through the gift of music and arts.
